Brief Profile
Dr. Nishith Shah is one of pioneering Arthroscopy surgeons of India who started practicing EXCLUSIVE ARTHROSCOPY in 1989 at Ahmedabad. He was also one of the orthopedic surgeons who has deep interest in Sport injuries treatment by understanding sports science. He was trained for arthroscopy at USA at Massachusetts General hospital, Boston ( Dr. Dinesh Patel , one of the pioneers of arthroscopy in USA), Hospital for joint surgery, NewYork & other hospitals. In 1998!, he was the FIRST Indian orthopedic surgeon to be awarded AANA travelling fellowship by very prestigious Arthroscopy association of North America (AANA), USA In 1998. Dr Shah spent 1 year in various cities on both sides of USA to learn latest in Arthroscopy from world renowned Arthroscopist shall .
Being in arthroscopic surgery for more than 35 yrs., Dr Shah has very vast experience in Knee Ligament reconstruction , Knee arthritis surgery , Shoulder dislocations as well as rotator cuff injury. He is also proficient in Arthroscopic Surgeries of Elbow, Wrist, Hip, Ankle joints. He has been a faculty member in numerous arthroscopy conferences all over the world. He is known all over India for his PCL- Posterior cruciate ligament surgery ( Back ligament inside the knee) and well as in Children & Adolescent knee ligaments injury treatment. For last more than 15 years. Dr. Shah has cured thousands of patients of Chronic pain with PROLOTHERAPY injections.
Dr. Nishith Shah is also a founder member of Indian Arthroscopy Society (IAS). He is the First president of ICS- Indian cartilage society that has radically changed outlook of articular mcartilage surgery in India. An ardent believer of continuing education, Dr. Rohan Vakta & he runs arthroscopy fellowship training programme at Aash arthroscopy centre for many years.
Besides arthroscopy, Dr. Shah has special interest in long distance cycling, photography, travel & heritage.
